In the Spotlight -
Meet Ksenia Belkina

At AI4ALL we’d like to inspire others by featuring female role models who are making a difference in AI. We aim to empower women who are working in AI by highlighting their success stories. This way we hope to inspire other women and girls to get into STEM-related fields. In our series ‘In the Spotlight’ we shine a light on an expert in the field and today we’d like you to meet Ksenia Belkina.

Ksenia’s Family-Inspired Mission to Rethink Heart Care

Ksenia Belkina is a visionary founder and CEO of Cardiomo, a groundbreaking health-tech company using AI-powered wearable technology to revolutionize cardiovascular care. She is a mother of two daughters, holds a Master’s degree in International Relations, Political Science and Psychology, and has spent her career developing high-quality business strategies. Recognized for her contributions to digital health, she has been named among Forbes’ Top 25 Women in IT, 40/40 Emerging Leaders in Biotech, and the Top 20 Women Tech Entrepreneurs.

Her path into health technology began in a deeply personal way. “When my loved ones urgently needed to monitor their heart health, I saw firsthand how limited the current home-monitoring systems were,” she said. Motivated by this experience, Ksenia is committed to transforming patient care and empowering women through innovation in digital health. Her work bridges technology and compassion, which inspired the mission behind Cardiomo: enabling early detection and continuous heart-health monitoring to help save lives.

Building Cardiomo: AI That Predicts Heart Health Risks

Cardiomo is a health-tech startup using AI to provide real-time, remote monitoring for patients with chronic heart conditions. Its wearable patch continuously tracks vital signs, including ECG, respiratory rate, and body temperature. This data is sent to a secure platform powered by proprietary AI algorithms that detect early warning signs of complications. The system not only records data but also alerts caregivers or physicians, enabling timely interventions that can prevent hospitalizations.

Beyond developing the technology itself, Ksenia actively engages with the wider European health-tech ecosystem, fostering collaborations and pilot projects that bring Cardiomo’s innovations to real-world settings.

“My mission combines technical innovation with a personal purpose,” she added. “I want to make heart monitoring accessible, affordable, and proactive, while also showing that innovation can be ethical, human-centered, and inclusive.”

Improving Healthcare and Inspiring the Next Generation

At Cardiomo, Ksenia’s work sits at the intersection of AI and human health, where innovation has the power to directly save lives. The AI-driven platform she leads predicts health deterioration in patients with chronic heart conditions, enabling early intervention and reducing hospitalizations, complications and even mortality.

By shifting care from reactive to proactive, Cardiomo also eases the burden on healthcare systems, helping medical staff work more efficiently while improving patient outcomes.

“Our goal is not just to build technology,” she explained, “but to create tools that clinicians can trust and that patients can rely on to take control of their health.”

Beyond the technology, Ksenia’s work addresses broader challenges in healthcare. Cardiomo’s platform demonstrates how AI can expand access to continuous care, especially in under-resourced communities, and shows what is possible when health technology is built responsibly and ethically.

As a female founder in AI, Ksenia also uses her experience to mentor and inspire the next generation of innovators, advocating for diversity, inclusion, and leadership in technology. Her work reflects a belief that AI is not just a tool, but a way to shape a healthier, more equitable future — and Cardiomo is a tangible example of that mission in action.
